// This study systematically reviewed 52 cohorts to determine the prevalence of facial canal dehiscence (FCD) in healthy individuals aged 10 and older. Using pooled data from over 15,000 facial canals, the overall FCD prevalence was found to be 22%, with rates varying by assessment method: 32% via radiologic imaging, 23% via cadaveric dissection, and 7% intraoperatively. These findings highlight that method influences reported FCD rates and have important implications for preoperative risk assessment and surgical planning in otology.
