// The Role of Ear Canal Sound Pressure in Bone Conduction Across Different Bone Conduction Devices
// This study investigated how the outer ear canal pathway contributes to bone conduction (BC) hearing by measuring ear canal sound pressure (ECSP), cochlear promontory motion (VPROM), and intracochlear pressure (PSV) across different bone conduction device (BCD) coupling types. Using human cadaver heads, the researchers found that ECSP's impact varies with frequency and device type, notably showing higher ECSP for adhesive BCDs below 2 kHz and near ear canal resonance (2-3 kHz). The findings suggest the ear canal pathway plays a frequency-dependent role in BC hearing, which is more relevant in normal-hearing assessments than in conductive hearing loss.
