// This study evaluated the use of single-pulse diode laser ablation for precise removal of cholesteatoma tissue while preserving the ossicular chain. Experiments on porcine cartilage and human samples showed that controlled laser pulses effectively ablated cholesteatoma without damaging underlying ossicles. Optical coherence tomography and histological analysis confirmed safe ablation depths and tissue preservation. The findings suggest this laser technique could improve cholesteatoma surgery by preventing recurrence and hearing loss.
