// This study investigated self-reported hearing difficulties before and after hearing aid (HA) use in individuals with normal to moderate hearing loss. Using the SSQ12 questionnaire, results showed similar pre-treatment difficulties across groups, but those with moderate loss gained more benefit from HAs. Importantly, individuals with near-normal audiograms also reported meaningful improvements after HA use. The findings suggest HA candidacy should include self-reported difficulties, not just pure-tone audiograms.
