// This study explored parents' experiences when receiving their child's communication disorder diagnosis from speech-language pathologists using in-depth interviews with eight parents. Key findings revealed parents desired more information, emotional support, personal connection, and clear communication from SLPs during diagnosis. The study highlights that diagnostic disclosure deeply impacts parents emotionally and relationally. It concludes that SLPs should prioritize clear information, address caregiver emotions, and build collaborative relationships to enhance parental adjustment and service engagement.
