// This study analyzed national hospital data in Poland from 2012 to 2023 to assess hearing disorders in patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Hearing loss diagnoses were extremely rare among HBV patients, occurring in only about 0.05% of cases, with no increased prevalence compared to the general population. Unlike reports from Asia, chronic HBV infection in this European cohort was not linked to higher rates of hearing impairment. Regional differences in genetics, disease traits, and healthcare likely explain the contrasting findings.
