// This study examined the prognostic role of semicircular canal dysfunction in profound sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL) and the impact of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Patients with posterior semicircular canal (PSCC) dysfunction had significantly poorer hearing recovery. However, among those with PSCC dysfunction, HBOT led to notable improvements in hearing thresholds across multiple frequencies. Thus, PSCC dysfunction can indicate worse prognosis but also identifies patients who may benefit more from HBOT.
