// This study reviewed U.S. cochlear implant registration data from 2005 to 2023 to analyze trends in bilateral simultaneous versus sequential implantation. It found that most bilateral cochlear implant recipients are children, who are more likely than adults to receive simultaneous implants. The proportion of simultaneous bilateral implants increased significantly over time, while the time interval between sequential implants decreased across all age groups. These findings indicate a growing preference and faster timing for simultaneous bilateral cochlear implantation, especially in children.
