// This study retrospectively analyzed 44 pediatric tracheotomies performed over 25 years at a tertiary hospital to assess indications, complications, and outcomes. Airway obstruction was the most common reason for tracheotomy, followed by neurological impairment and craniofacial anomalies. Complications occurred in 32% of cases, mainly tracheal obstructions and decannulations, with no procedure-related deaths. The findings conclude pediatric tracheotomy is safe and effective but requires careful monitoring, especially in patients with severe comorbidities.
