// Electrically evoked compound action potentials in adult and pediatric cochlear implant users: II. Assessing cochlear nerve health status with the interphase gap effect and the phase locking value

// This study compared neural synchrony and activated cochlear nerve fibers in adult and pediatric cochlear implant users using phase locking value (PLV) and the interphase gap (IPG) effect on eCAP. Adults showed poorer neural synchrony at basal electrodes than pediatric users, but no differences in fiber activation were found between groups. PLV and IPG effect measures did not correlate, suggesting they reflect different biological mechanisms. The results highlight age-related differences in cochlear nerve health and the need for further research on these measures in adults.
