// This ERP study used structural priming with Chinese verb phrases to examine how abstract morphosyntactic representations of perfective aspect are pre-activated during phrasal processing. Results showed facilitation in both semantic (N400) and syntactic (P600) processing but were driven by distinct subgroups, one relying on syntactic reanalysis (P600) and the other on lexicosemantic integration (N400). The study found that perfective representation is abstract and dependent on marker position within phrases. These findings reveal individual differences in neural language processing and challenge unified models of semantic-syntactic integration.
