// This study evaluated risk factors for thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) recurrence after the Sistrunk procedure and introduced Dakin's solution (DS) packing for managing recurrent cases. A history of cutaneous sinus tract was identified as a significant risk factor for recurrence. DS packing was used successfully in eight patients with recurrent TGDC, showing no recurrences or complications during follow-up. The findings suggest DS packing is a feasible and safe treatment option, pending further larger studies.
