// Language and False Beliefs of School-Aged Children With Developmental Language Disorder

// This study examined false belief (FB) theory of mind skills in children with developmental language disorder (DLD) compared to neurotypical (NT) peers, using verbal and nonverbal task modalities. Children with DLD scored lower on FB tasks regardless of task modality, indicating that their difficulties are not due to task language complexity. Complement clause use was the strongest predictor of FB performance, highlighting the link between specific language skills and theory of mind. These results suggest that FB impairments in DLD are closely related to particular language abilities and have important implications for communication interventions.
