// This study used computational modeling to examine how people with aphasia (PWA) and healthy controls search semantic memory during a fluency task. PWA produced fewer words and relied more on phonological cues both within clusters and when switching between them, unlike controls who primarily used phonology within clusters. The findings suggest PWA may use phonological similarity as a compensatory strategy due to impaired conceptual-lexical access. Overall, the work highlights differences in search strategies and demonstrates the value of computational models in studying semantic retrieval in language impairments.
