It finds that interpreting tasks heavily tax AC, strengthening it and shifting control from reactive to proactive. The degree of AC adaptation depends on control demands within language TSs, explaining mixed results in interpreter advantage studies. The findings align with the Adaptive Control Hypothesis and suggest future research should use developmental approaches and detailed task analyses.
