// Dysphagia in Older Adults with Malignant Brain Tumors: Results of a National Study of Medicare Beneficiaries
// This study assessed the prevalence and impact of dysphagia in adults aged 65+ with brain tumors using Medicare data. Dysphagia was more common in primary malignant brain tumors (11%) than in other solid tumors and was linked to higher hospitalization, greater healthcare use, and significantly lower survival. Enteral feeding did not improve survival among those with dysphagia and primary brain tumors. The findings highlight dysphagia as a critical factor affecting outcomes in older brain tumor patients.
