// This study evaluated the safety and effectiveness of cochlear implants in adults with single-sided deafness. Thirty patients received unilateral cochlear implants, and their speech recognition, spatial hearing, tinnitus, and quality of life were assessed over 12 months. Results showed significant improvements in speech perception in quiet and noise, binaural hearing, tinnitus reduction, and overall quality of life. The findings support cochlear implantation as a beneficial treatment for single-sided deafness in adults.
