// Temperament Profiles and Their Association With Stuttering-Related Outcomes in a Clinical Cohort
// This study investigated how the interaction between emotional reactivity and self-regulation relates to stuttering severity, speech attitude, anxiety, depression, and stuttering impact in children who stutter. Using temperament profiles based on parental reports, no significant effects were found in younger children, but in older children and teens, higher positive reactivity combined with higher self-regulation was linked to less stuttering impact and better emotional outcomes. Conversely, high negative reactivity with low self-regulation was associated with greater stuttering impact. The findings suggest that self-regulation modulates the influence of emotional reactivity on stuttering experiences, especially in later childhood and adolescence.
