// This study developed and validated i-Phagia, a flexible wearable sEMG patch for recording submental muscle activity during swallowing. A randomized crossover trial with young and older adults compared i-Phagia to conventional sensors, showing equivalent signal-to-noise ratios but lower baseline noise and strong correlation in muscle activity patterns. The i-Phagia patch was safe, caused less skin irritation, and yielded higher user satisfaction and faster application. These results support its feasibility for clinical use in swallowing rehabilitation.
