// This study examined narrative development in 420 Dutch-speaking children aged 4-9 using story generation and retelling tasks. Age was significantly related to all narrative measures, with normative data provided. While elicitation method alone did not affect performance, older children showed more improvement in complex sentences and plot elements when retelling stories. Microstructure measures correlated with plot structure, especially in younger children and during retelling.
