// This study evaluated personal narrative coherence in 417 ten-year-old children from 21 cultural and linguistic backgrounds using the Global TALES protocol and Narrative Coherence Coding Scheme (NaCCS). Results showed that narrative coherence varied by both cultural/linguistic group and emotional prompt type, with problem prompts eliciting more coherent narratives than angry prompts. Significant differences in coherence, especially in thematic dimension, were found across groups, supporting the protocol’s and NaCCS’s cross-cultural applicability. The findings suggest these tools can effectively assess children's narrative skills in diverse populations, aiming for broader clinical integration.
