// This study investigated the effects of ferulic acid (FA) on myringosclerosis formation in rats after tympanic membrane injury. FA was given either topically or systemically, and both methods significantly reduced myringosclerosis indicators such as membrane thickness and inflammation. Topical FA was more effective than systemic administration in reducing tympanic membrane thickness. The results suggest FA could help prevent postoperative myringosclerosis and deserve further research.
