// Cortical responses to thelack of high-frequency cues in musical emotion perception
// This study investigated how simulated high- and low-frequency hearing loss affects brain activity during musical emotion judgments. EEG recordings showed that high-frequency hearing loss simulation increased alpha-band activity, reflecting greater cognitive effort particularly in judging positive (happy) valence and arousal in sad music. Findings suggest spectral degradation triggers compensatory top-down processing to support stable emotional appraisals despite reduced auditory cues.
