Researchers found that the IDAEP slope, reflecting sensory reactivity, was higher shortly after tinnitus onset but decreased significantly over six months, suggesting dynamic neurophysiological changes. The findings support the hypothesis that neural mechanisms linked to tinnitus initiation reduce over time as central plasticity develops. IDAEP may thus be a useful objective marker to track tinnitus-related auditory changes.
