// This study investigated how different aspects of science capital relate to adults' probabilistic reasoning skills. Using tasks measuring randomness understanding and heuristic use, it found that engagement in science activities improved accuracy and reduced reliance on some heuristics. However, early encouragement to science decreased use of the equiprobability heuristic. The findings suggest that a supportive science environment may enhance probabilistic reasoning in adults.
