// This study addresses challenges in implementing sodium thiosulfate (STS) as an otoprotectant for pediatric cancer patients receiving cisplatin. An international task force of experts reviewed barriers to STS use and proposed practical solutions based on evidence and consensus. They identified nine key challenges, including timing of administration, protocol integration, drug interactions, and economic factors. The article presents expert recommendations to support safe and effective STS implementation in clinical care for children with localized, nonmetastatic tumors.
