// Virtual reality and voice measurements: Investigating auditory, visual, and audiovisual sensory streams
// This study investigated how voice production changes in response to multisensory versus unisensory virtual reality simulations. Forty-one adults spoke in three conditions—multisensory audiovisual, audio-only, and visual-only—while acoustic parameters and self-reported vocal effort were measured. Results showed multisensory simulations significantly affected vocal features and effort more than unisensory ones, with females showing strong auditory-driven adjustments and task type influencing outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of multisensory input in vocal motor control and suggest it could enhance voice assessments beyond traditional methods.
