// This study investigated whether people implicitly evaluate emotional content during silent reading by measuring brain responses (ERPs). Using rapid visual presentation of sentences with negative/non-negative and moral/immoral scenarios, researchers observed larger late positive potentials (LPPs) for negative and immoral content. This indicates that readers automatically engage in affective evaluation of emotional and moral language without explicit judgment tasks. The findings suggest that implicit emotional processing contributes to discourse comprehension regardless of context.
