// This study aimed to adapt the Specialty Telemedicine Access for Referrals (STAR) model for school hearing screening and telemedicine follow-up using community feedback. Researchers conducted 23 interviews across three rural Alaskan regions, analyzed data with implementation science frameworks, and identified 19 key factors leading to 43 specific adaptation actions. These adaptations included revising materials, updating training and communication strategies, and enhancing evaluation metrics for scalability. The formative evaluation supported a community-informed trial design and highlighted the usefulness of rapid qualitative methods for tailoring evidence-based hearing health interventions.
