// This study examined the link between hearing loss, poor physical and mental health, and health literacy among US adults. Using 2016 survey data and logistic regression, it found that adults with hearing difficulties had worse health outcomes and lower health literacy than those without. Health literacy partially mediated the relationship, explaining a small but significant portion of the increased poor health in this group. Improving health literacy could reduce the days of poor physical and mental health experienced by adults with hearing loss.
