// Does Mild Head Injury in Childhood Affect Later School Performance? A Sibling Comparison Cohort Study
// This study examined the long-term educational impact of mild head injury (MHI) in children aged 6-16 by comparing school grades and high school eligibility with their siblings. Using register data and the Glasgow Outcome Scale Extended at 3 months post-injury, children with good recovery showed no differences in school performance compared to siblings. However, children with poorer recovery at 3 months had significantly lower total grade scores. The findings suggest that only children with poorer short-term recovery from MHI experience long-term educational difficulties.
