// This pilot study developed the EZ-chEW, a parent-report tool to measure toddlers' chewing patterns at home across different food consistencies. Parents successfully collected longitudinal data on chewing duration and cycles in 67 toddlers, showing age- and consistency-related changes consistent with prior research. Chewing duration and cycles increased with age and food complexity, while chewing efficiency was stable across ages but varied by consistency. EZ-chEW offers an accessible way to assess chewing performance in natural settings, supporting tailored clinical interventions.
