// TGF-β signaling regulates flat epithelium formation in severely injured adult mouse utricle through epithelial-mesenchymal transition
// This study investigates the role of TGF-β signaling in forming a flat epithelium (FE) after severe injury to vestibular sensory epithelium. Using in vivo and in vitro methods, the researchers found that TGF-β signaling is rapidly activated post-injury and modulates epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers during FE formation. Enhancing TGF-β accelerates wound closure and EMT, while inhibiting it delays healing and reduces mesenchymal marker expression. Thus, TGF-β signaling critically regulates FE formation by controlling EMT processes after injury.
