// Interaction Between Head Movement Behavior and Simulated Spatial Filtering: Comparing Free Conversation and Speech Tests in Virtual Reality
// This study investigated whether spatial filter SNR improvement from hearing devices can be measured during free conversations in virtual reality (VR). Eleven normal-hearing participants engaged in both free conversation and an adaptive speech test with spatially separated talkers using VR avatars. Results showed greater SNR benefits and more natural head movements during free conversations, with SNR levels closer to real-life conditions. The findings suggest VR-based conversations offer a more realistic and valid method to evaluate hearing device effectiveness.
