// This study examined how aging affects sentence comprehension in English, Korean, and Japanese by manipulating sentence word order and semantic plausibility. Older adults performed worse than younger adults across all languages, particularly when semantic plausibility was low. Word order influenced comprehension similarly across ages, except for response times in Japanese older adults. These results reveal universal and language-specific aging effects, aiding the development of cross-linguistic tools for assessing cognitive-linguistic decline.
