// Short-Term Neurobehavioral Effects of Acute Respiratory Illness on Auditory-Motor Integration During Speech Production
// This study examined how COVID-19 affects the brain's control of speech by testing vocal responses and brain activity before and after infection. Using vocal pitch-shift feedback and brain event-related potentials, researchers found that COVID-19 reduced vocal compensation and altered neural responses, showing decreased N1 and increased P2 amplitudes with changed connectivity in speech-related brain areas. These results indicate short-term neural changes and reorganization in auditory-vocal integration after COVID-19 infection. No changes were observed in the control group without infection.
