// Differentiating Ménière Disease and Vestibular Migraine: A Prospective MRI Study of Endolymphatic Hydrops
// This study evaluated the use of high-resolution MRI to detect cochlear and vestibular endolymphatic hydrops in diagnosing Ménière disease (MD), vestibular migraine (VM), and their overlap (VMMD). Researchers analyzed hydrops severity in 231 patients with episodic vertigo and compared MRI findings with treatment response after two years as the diagnostic standard. They found that MD patients predominantly showed moderate to severe hydrops, while over half of VM patients had no hydrops, and those with hydrops had mostly mild grades. The severity of hydrops on MRI was significantly associated with the final clinical diagnosis, supporting its diagnostic value in distinguishing MD from VM.
