// This study evaluated the prevalence of superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSCD) in patients with lateral spontaneous cerebrospinal fluid leaks (sCSFL) and assessed CT's accuracy in detecting SSCD. Intraoperative SSCD or near-dehiscence was found in 17% of cases, lower than CT-predicted rates, with CT showing high sensitivity and specificity but moderate positive predictive value. Obesity, sleep apnea, and intracranial pressure did not predict SSCD presence. The authors conclude that CT is useful for guiding intraoperative SSCD assessment in sCSFL patients.
