// This study evaluated the burden of hearing loss caused by otitis media in China from 1990 to 2023 using data from the Global Burden of Disease database and advanced statistical models. Results showed significant decreases in prevalence and disability rates over this period, especially among children aged 5-9 years, with males consistently more affected than females. However, projections to 2045 indicate that standardized prevalence and disability rates may rise despite declining total cases. The findings highlight the importance of targeting young children for ongoing prevention and control efforts.
