// This systematic review evaluated the effects of adenotonsillectomy on dentofacial and craniofacial development in children. The analysis of ten longitudinal studies showed that adenotonsillectomy leads to positive dentoalveolar changes and improved mandibular growth, especially when done before age six. However, full skeletal correction is unpredictable and depends on intervention timing and individual factors. Therefore, surgery supports dentofacial adaptation but usually requires additional orthodontic treatment.
