// This study systematically reviewed 55 years of research on language deficits after right-hemisphere stroke within the apragmatism framework. It analyzed 233 articles involving over 4,300 patients, highlighting comprehension and production impairments in figurative language, inferencing, context use, humor, and emotional processing at multiple linguistic levels. Extralinguistic impairments mainly involved facial expression, while methodological weaknesses limited clarity in understanding these deficits. The findings emphasize that both linguistic and nonverbal communication challenges are significant following right-hemisphere stroke.
