// This study examined the effects of two types of orthographic cues—initial letters and whole words—on spoken naming in adults with chronic poststroke anomia through an internet-based therapy using a crossover design. Results showed that whole-word cues led to significant and more durable improvements in naming accuracy and response time for most participants up to 4 weeks posttreatment, while initial letter cues had less impact and shorter-lasting effects. The findings suggest that whole-word written cues are more effective for aphasia therapy and should be considered in telehealth treatments. Evaluating multiple naming outcomes also provides a fuller understanding of therapy benefits.
