// This study aimed to address delays in pediatric obstructive sleep apnea surgery in a non-urban Quebec hospital, focusing on referral-to-consultation wait times. A retrospective analysis of 82 cases identified non-standardized referral triage as the main cause of delays, particularly in the referral-to-consultation phase. Higher tonsil grade and oxygen desaturation index predicted shorter surgery wait times, highlighting the benefit of using severity markers. Implementing a standardized referral template and triage algorithm based on clinical severity is proposed to improve access and meet national benchmarks.
