// Integrative modelling of interindividual cognitive variances related to successful cochlear implantation: a cohort study
// This study examined how cognitive factors like verbal memory affect cochlear implant outcomes in adults with severe hearing loss. Using predictive models on 84 patients, better preoperative verbal memory was linked to improved speech perception in noise after implantation. Hearing loss type influenced outcomes, but age and duration did not, with speech perception improving over time. The findings suggest that assessing cognition before implantation can help tailor interventions to enhance long-term implant success.
