// This study assessed cochlear implantation (CI) outcomes in six patients with cochlear hypoplasia type I (CH-I), a challenging inner ear malformation. Most patients received CI via the transmastoid facial nerve recess approach using short straight electrodes and showed improved auditory function, including good speech recognition. The findings highlight that careful cochlear morphology assessment, appropriate surgical approach, and systematic auditory training are key to successful CI in CH-I patients. Long-term rehabilitation remains essential for optimal outcomes.
