// This study analyzed pediatric tonsillectomy cases to assess if recent COVID-19 or influenza infections increase postoperative hemorrhage risk. Using a matched cohort from the TriNetX database, it found that recent COVID-19 infection significantly raises the risk of secondary hemorrhage after surgery, while influenza does not affect hemorrhage risk. No increase in primary hemorrhage was linked to COVID-19. The findings suggest clinicians should advise families and consider extra precautions for patients with recent COVID-19 infection before surgery.
