// This study explores a noninvasive method to monitor intracochlear pressure during cochlear implantation using a probe microphone in the ear canal. By applying a reverse middle-ear transfer function, the authors estimate intracochlear pressure changes during surgery in both temporal bones and patients. They observed high acoustic pressure events, particularly during round window opening and electrode insertion, matching direct measurements, validating the approach. The findings suggest this technique can enable real-time monitoring of acoustic exposure to improve hearing preservation during surgery.
