// Enhancing Externalization of Frontal Virtual Sound Sources in Binaural Synthesis via Level and Reflection Adjustment of Non-individualized BRIRs
// This study improves externalization of frontal virtual sound sources (0°-30° azimuth) in binaural synthesis using single-speaker non-individualized binaural room impulse responses (NI-BRIRs). A two-phase method was developed: first, scaling binaural levels to equalize levels across azimuths; second, enhancing early reflections to adjust the direct-to-reflection sound ratio. Both phases significantly improved perceived externalization. The approach offers a practical correction for wearable audio devices, enhancing realistic spatial sound perception.
