// This study evaluated if congenital cytomegalovirus infection affects cochlear implant usage in children by comparing hearing hour percentage (HHP) to matched controls. Using retrospective data and regression analyses, cCMV was not found to independently impact HHP. Instead, age, insurance status, hearing loss type, and implantation timing influenced CI use. The results suggest socioeconomic factors are more important than cCMV status in predicting device usage.
