// Electrically evoked compound action potentials in adult and pediatric cochlear implant users: I. Cochlear nerve responsiveness and electrode-neuron interface index
// This study compared cochlear nerve response properties between pediatric and adult cochlear implant users by analyzing electrically evoked compound action potentials (eCAPs) across multiple electrodes. Using seven eCAP-derived indices and linear mixed-effects models, researchers found that pediatric users had lower eCAP thresholds, while adults showed shallower amplitude growth slopes at basal electrodes and shorter refractory periods. Both groups exhibited poorer responses at middle electrode locations. These findings highlight both shared and distinct cochlear nerve characteristics in pediatric versus adult CI users.
